The moon

Round and bright, you are seen at night

Yellow or white, you shine in the light.

Your shape does change but you have a range

From day one to fifteen, the transition is seen.

You control the tide but sometimes you hide

Using clouds as your cover, round the corner you hover

The lovers’ friend, broken hearts you mend

You seem far yet near, so unique and queer.

Amongst the stars you reside but different is your stride

You don’t twinkle and tease, you stay stable and please

Dependable and beautiful, you are truly faithful.

When Earth asked for a boon, she got you — the Moon!
